eatPOS – Getting EPOS ready for the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme
From 3 to 31 August, get a 50% discount when you eat in at restaurants that are registered with the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme.
The government eat out to help out incentive will be in effect from 3 August, with the hope of boosting the hospitality industry after the Covid pandemic.
How will the scheme work?
The scheme will give consumers a discount of up to 50% whilst eating or drinking soft drinks at participating restaurants and other food establishments within the hospitality industry.
The government scheme will be valid all day Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday for the month of August, this will be available in all parts of the UK excluding parts of the UK that are in local lockdown.
Each consumer will have a maximum discount available to them of £10 for dining in, for both food and drink. Food and drink will be appearing at full price on the menu, and the establishments within hospitality will deduct money off the bill and claim it back from the government.
Which hospitality businesses are taking part in the scheme?
More than 53,000 businesses have signed up to the promotion already, these businesses include:
- Cafes
- Restaurants
- Bars and pubs that serve food
- Food halls with a seating area

From the front of house you will then be able to apply the 50% discount by clicking the individual menu item and selecting reason eatout1. To apply the full £10 discount on front of house enter £10 discount/person on the payment pad.
