How eatPOS allows businesses to survive and adapt to the restrictions of Lockdown 3.0 in Scotland

On the 16th February 2021, Nicola Sturgeon made a speech in which the first minister stated, there would be no changes to the lockdown restrictions besides early years’ education, and that this could possibly continue into March.

Hospitality venues such as restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars – with the exception of providing food and drink for takeaway (physical distancing rules and face covering rules must be followed), must remain closed.

Here’s what the eatPOS team have to say:

Due to the restrictions of Covid-19, we’ve supported and had several clients get started with their own online ordering platform, powered by eatPOS. We’re proud to say some, never got started with the third party platforms (Just Eat, Uber Eats, Deliveroo) and others, are starting to divert customers to order directly via their own website with our hands-on experience.

We don’t like the hefty commission fees third party platforms charge because they can really eat into businesses profits. As well as this, third party platforms do not give the businesses access to their own customer database either.

We know our customers feel the same. Julie Lin Mcleod of Julie’s Kopitiam, Glasgow comments on Uber Eats in the Hartlepool Mail, ‘the fees are just so high, 27% pretty much swallows our profits, so we have to raise prices in order to get the food to customers and stay afloat.’

If you’re still using and reliant on using third party platform ordering platforms, don’t be, as now is the time to get started with your own online ordering website and eatPOS are here to help you adapt.

How eatPOS can help you adapt:

eatPOS is a software company with actual hospitality experience; they can relate to their customers and be able to help you effectively by providing robust software and consultancy to help you during these dark times.

eatPOS will set you up with your very own online ordering platform that you can customise and organise with a few clicks of a button.

We allow businesses to operate as a takeaway delivery and collection service with ease.

As consultants with experience in the industry, we share tips on how to maximise sales etc and what upsell prompts to add.

With your online ordering website link, you will also receive printable marketing QR codes to divert customers to order directly from your own website.

What further benefits does eatPOS have for you:

Aside from a range of features that can be used to customise your very own platform and the ease of transition to takeaway, eatPOS is beneficial because it is future proof. MCA Insight predicts that the market will be worth £9.8 billion by 2021, and it’s important to note that over half of home delivery and takeaway orders are now placed online.

eatPOS provides you with your customer database, so you can manage your marketing and demographic by having the ability to offer discounts at your own benefit.
