We’re EPOS ready for the eat out to help out scheme, are you?

From 3 to 31 August, get a 50% discount when you eat in at restaurants that are registered with the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme.

This Government’s new Eat Out to Help Out scheme gives people up to 50% off meals out, up to maximum of £10 per person, encouraging them back into restaurants, cafés and pubs. Anyone who eats at a participating business, Monday to Wednesday for the month of August, can receive up to 50% off.

Eligible businesses are those in which food is sold for immediate on-site consumption. This includes:

• Restaurants
• Cafes
• Public Houses that serve food
• Hotel restaurants
• Restaurants and cafes within tourist attractions
• Dining rooms within members’ clubs
• Workplace & school canteen

When should you offer the discount?

When you register for the scheme, you are expected to offer it during the whole of your opening hours on the eligible days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday).

What if a customer leaves the premises after ordering food or drink to dine in?

If a customer is dining in and takes away the remainder of their meal, the discount will still apply.

Does the discount apply if the customer only orders a non-alcoholic drink?

Yes, the scheme applies to food or non-alcoholic drinks for dine in.

Eat out to help out for EPOS

In the image above we can see within our pay screen we can select Discount which will bring up our discount popup. From here we can select EATOUTTOHELPOUT within the reason section. Our smart algorithm will then calculate the discount automatically so you don’t have to.

Eat out to help out for order at table smartphone web apps

To our left we can see how the eat out to help out scheme will work on our order at table smartphone web app. With our order at table app customers are able to place orders and pay on their smartphone. With integration to our personalised QR codes, customers can access your menu and pay more efficiently than ever before. No fuss. No downloads. And above all, it’s contactless!

The discount will automatically appear on your customers’ order and our smart algorithm will then calculate the discount automatically.At the end of the month you will be given a report through our back office that will show the amount of times the eat out to help out coupon has been used in your establishment.
